Leah Mullen

My name is Leah and for most of my young adult life, I had a persistent internal chatter and negative self-talk regime. My mind was always distracted and had quite literally become my worst enemy instead of my best friend.
I knew a little about meditation and after doing some further research and seeing the benefits it had brought to some of my friends lives, I decided to give it a go. A decision that to date, is still one of the best decisions of my life!

Immediately I felt the positive impact it was having on my life and slowly over time I was proud to no longer be at war with my mind.

I completely underestimated how amazing it felt to achieve the calm, kindness and personal power that meditation allows us to experience.

Then COVID 19 hit and as an owner of a travel agency, my business and professional life was affected in ways I could not imagine. It was tough navigating all the challenges that this brought to my life but I also saw it as an opportunity to dig deeper into my practice of meditation.

I completed the Meditation Leaders Course with Skilful Mind to expand my knowledge, develop my own personal practice and have the ability and knowledge to share the many benefits of meditation.

The Dalai Lama said that “if every 8-year-old in the world is taught meditation, we will eliminate violence from the world in one generation” and although I may not see this in my lifetime, it is something to aspire to nonetheless.
